Balarampuram (Kerala) saris are generally done in 100s X 100s in kora white with elaborate gold and heavy denting in the borders. Nowadays these saris have introduced colour in the body with ‘zari’ borders, plain grounds with coloured border and the use of silver. The principal type of hand-woven fabric produced in Kerala is sari.
