In the first series of “TANTAVI -2001”, first of its kind, displayed 212 yardages alongwith the finished products i.e. made-up & apparels. The woven yardages were developed with the natural fibres i.e. cotton, wool, silk, jute etc. in their own natural colours in different permutation and combinations of count of yarn, ends per inch, picks per inch, low/high twist yarn, etc. by different Weavers’ Service Centres. The finished products made of these yardages were fabricated by Handicrafts and Handlooms Export Corporation (HHEC), NewDelhi and Central Cottage Industries Corporation Ltd., (CCIC), New Delhi.

The exhibitions were organized at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Varanasi, Bhagalpur, Karur, Bagalkot, Ahmedabad and Panipat during the period from December 2001 to March 2003.
