The 2nd Series of exhibition “TANTAVI –
2003”, was based on patterned fabrics and displayed
193 exclusive handloom fabrics developed by 25 Weavers’
Service Centres. Such fabrics can be used in either
gray form or after surface embellishment depending upon
their end use. The exhibition also highlighted the varieties
of patterns by use of extra weft, extra warp, multi-treadle,
dobby or jacquard machines.
Alongwith 193 yardages of the fabrics,
finished products i.e. home furnishings and apparels
designed by National Institute of Fashion Technology
(NIFT) were also been displayed to demonstrate the multifarious
end use of the fabrics for the interest of designers,
exporters, manufacturers and other professionals.
The exhibitions were organized at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore,
Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwhati, Cannanore, Coimbatore,
Bhubaneshwar, Jaipur and Meerut during the period from
December 2003 to December 2004.
